Holiday Season Meditation Special : 6 week long Series.

To help make the most of your holiday season, join Shari to practice Meditation using your breath to experience a sense of calmness. This practice of quieting the mind helps you see your world more clearly and know what is inside your heart. Additional benefits are increased immunity, memory, and patience.

Tai Chi: 6 week long Series.

Come learn about the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi! Often referred to as “meditation in motion,” Tai Chi provides an internal mind-body system for improved health, balance, strength and well-being. In addition to integrating mind, body and spirit, the gentle, flowing movements of Tai Chi contain an inner power that, with continued practice, has been proven to provide many benefits to people of all ages.
Numerous studies have shown the effectiveness of Tai Chi as a complementary therapy in treating common diseases such as depression, arthritis, diabetes and heart disease. This introductory Series will mix Chen and Yang styles to create an internal style that is soft and flowing, yet powerful and light.
New to Tai Chi ? All are welcome, from newcomer to experienced, and all fitness levels. Experience a meditative Tai Chi workout with great sound. Bring indoor fitness shoes that pivot. Or simply exercise with bare feet.

Parent-Child Yoga: 4 week long Series, recurring as long as there is interest.

Please join Michele F for this fun parent-child yoga series incorporating gentle postures from yoga and pilates into a lively fitness series building family bonds and healthy habits for a lifetime. For Pre-Teen children ages 4 to 15; no prior experience necessary. Classes will involve 45 minutes of standing and floor mat activity, followed by 15 minutes of cooling and stretching.
The series is scheduled for Thursdays from 6PM to 7PM, and is on-going. Both parent and child(or children) need to pre-pay and have signed a waiver prior to the first class.

Girls and/or Scouts and/or Teen Yoga: 6 week long Series.

Please join Michele F for this fun Girls Yoga series incorporating gentle postures from yoga and pilates into a lively fitness series building healthy habits for a lifetime. For teen girls ages 11 to 17; no prior experience necessary. Classes will involve 45 minutes of standing and floor mat activity, followed by 15 minutes of cooling and stretching. Attendees need to pre-pay and have signed a waiver prior to the first class.

Continuing Our Love for Yoga: NEW 8-week long Series
For those of you who already have a background in yoga, Sharan leads her engaging Continuing Our Love for Yoga series. Sharan instructs on beneficial breathing techniques for tranquility to help unwind from the stresses of daily life. The one-hour-long class involves yoga positioning with props that will build strength, improve balance, and restore flexibility. It’s a wonderful way to refresh your body and spirit. This 8-week Series is scheduled when there are enough people interested.
Restorative Yoga: 6 week long Series
Sharan leads this healthful Restorative Yoga in upstairs Studio 6. Sharan instructs on beneficial breathing techniques and delightful positioning on bolsters to completely unwind from the stresses of daily life. It’s a wonderful way to relax your body and mind and refresh your spirit before the weekend. This 6-week Series is scheduled when there are enough people interested.
BOSU Core: 6 week long Series
Join Melinda for a full-body workout using the BOSU ball! A BOSU is an inflated rubber dome on a flat platform….BOSU actually stands for Both Sides Up – you can use either side of the BOSU to create greater challenge and balance. The surface of the BOSU is ever-changing, thus forcing you to use and maintain your center of gravity for functional strength, stamina and balance; especially great for your core!! Lots of fun and lots of laughs….guaranteed!! This 6-week Series is scheduled when there are enough people interested.
Partner Yoga: 6 month long Series, once a month
Partner Yoga is an exhilarating and challenging practice that brings people together through movement, play, breath and touch. It can be practiced by any two people and is a great way to strengthen postures and gradually develop more flexibility. Partners rely on each other’s support to keep correct body alignment, balance and focus in a posture. When you feel physically supported, not only do you experience a yoga posture differently, but you also begin to allow yourself to trust someone else. There is no giver or receiver in partner yoga, thus all partners are fully engaged in their own experience. Bring a FRIEND along to partner with you! Try it for yourself! This 6-month (once week a month) Series is scheduled when there are enough people interested.
Mind-Body Movement: 6 week long Series
Get in touch with your inner Goddess through this fun, core-toning workout. Erika incorporates the basics of belly dancing, Bollywood, and even modern dance, complete with scarves and tambourines. The class consists of 30 minute cardio work, followed by 20 minutes of Pilates with props and 10 minutes of yoga stretching and relaxation. Come and sway your hips to the beat of the music and tighten your hips and waist at the same time. This 6-week Series is scheduled when there are enough people interested.
