Mini FAQs

Do I need experience before trying Pilates or barre or yoga or spin?

Not at all. Our classes are designed for every level, including complete beginners. Instructors offer modifications so you can move at your own pace and feel comfortable right from your first session.

What’s the difference between mat Pilates and reformer Pilates?

Mat Pilates focuses on core strength and stability using just your bodyweight and small props. Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine for resistance, helping you build strength, improve posture, and deepen your stretches.

Is yoga good for stress relief and mental health?

Yes — yoga is widely known to reduce stress, calm the mind, and support mental well-being. Many of our students say yoga helps them balance busy work, parenting, and everyday life.

Can Pilates help with back pain or posture problems?

Pilates strengthens your core and improves spinal alignment, which can ease tension and help prevent back pain. Many people find it especially helpful for posture if they sit at a desk or drive often.

Do I need special shoes or gear for spin classes?

We recommend athletic clothing and sneakers with firm soles. If you have cycling shoes that clip in, even better — but they’re not required. Just bring water and be ready for an energizing ride!

Is barre good for toning and improving posture?

Absolutely. Barre is a blast of cardio that strengthens and tones core and leg muscles and improves posture and balance. Very empowering.  It’s excellent for improving flexibility, and developing better posture over time.

How often should I do yoga, Pilates, or spin to see results?

Most students notice benefits in just 1–2 classes per week. For faster results in strength, flexibility, or endurance, aim for 3–4 sessions per week, mixing different class types for balance.

What should I wear to my first yoga, Pilates, Spin, or barre class?

Comfortable, stretchy clothing works best. You don’t need shoes for yoga, Pilates, or barre — barefoot or grip socks are perfect. For spin, wear sneakers, or you can wear clip-in cycling shoes if you have them.

Do you offer discounts for military or first responders?

Yes. We’re proud to support our community with discounts for active military, fire, EMS, and police. Contact us to receive a discount code.

What makes Every Body Balance different from other gyms?

At Every Body Balance, you won’t just find rows of machines — you’ll find a welcoming studio focused on people and wellness. Our certified instructors lead small, supportive classes where you get personal attention and encouragement. With options ranging from yoga, Pilates, and barre to spin, muscle conditioning, Pilates reformer and more, you’ll enjoy a variety of ways to move, grow stronger, and stay motivated as part of a caring, friendly community.

Can I take classes if I’m recovering from an injury?

Yes. Always check with your doctor first, but our instructors are trained to offer modifications that help you stay safe while rebuilding strength and mobility.
