Class Categories

Introductory

As the name suggests, these are generally “Yoga 101” or “Pilates Basics” classes for students taking their first steps into a new practice area.

Gentle / Restorative

These classes are ideal for people living with chronic pain, injuries, illness, or for anyone who prefers a slower, more relaxing pace. Emphasis is often placed on breathwork, mindfulness, philosophy, and the meditative side of practice. In Gentle Restorative classes, part of each session may include supported restorative postures using bolsters, blankets, and other props to encourage deep relaxation.

Moderate

These classes are a step up from introductory and gentle formats in terms of strengthening and physical challenge. Teachers often begin with a more accessible version of a movement or sequence and build gradually toward a more advanced option. There is plenty of room for modification, and our instructors are highly experienced at adapting movement to individual needs.

Energizing

These classes focus on strengthening and toning the deep core and full body while creating a more active, energizing pace. Students are always encouraged to work at their own level, with options to modify as needed. The result is a safe, effective workout in a welcoming and fun environment.

Series Classes

A number of specialty or Series classes are offered from time to time throughout the year on a prepaid basis. Series classes provide a more focused approach to a specific type of exercise, movement practice, or dance format. You can find upcoming offerings on our Workshops / Events / Series page.

Private Group Classes

Private Group classes are available for friends, neighbors, coworkers, or other small groups who want a more personalized experience. These sessions can start with an introduction to yoga or progress into more advanced movement, or they can focus on gentle restorative work, Barre, Spinning, Pilates, Muscle Conditioning, or many other formats we offer, depending on instructor availability and the goals of your group.
